Bayern start new season against Hamburg; Dortmund host Monchengladbach

 
Bundesliga Kings Bayern Munich start the campaign against Hamburg

Guardiola's men get their new Bundesliga campaign under way with a home game against Hamburg, who were almost relegated last season. The 53rd Bundesliga season takes off from Friday August 14.

Elsewhere in the opening round games of the season, new boss Thomas Tuchel has been given a tough debut as Borussia Dortmund come up against Borussia Monchengladbach who finished last season in third place at the Westfalenstadion. Shalke also have a new coach Andre Breitenreiter after sacking Di Matteo at the end of last season and he leads his side to Werder Bremen while fourth last season Leverkusen  host Hoffenheim.
The two promoted sides, Ingolstadt and Darmstadt, would face  Mainz and Hannover respectively, while Stuttgart start out at home to Cologne and Armin Veh begins his second stint as Eintracht Frankfurt coach with a trip to Wolfsburg. Finally, Augsburg kick off a season which will include European football for the first time with a home match against Hertha Berlin.

Further down the fixture list, Bayern Munich face Bayer Leverkusen on the third matchday before Wolfsburg visit Munich six weeks into the season, with Borussia Dortmund the visitors at the Allianz Arena a fortnight later.There are two derbies in early November with Borussia Dortmund hosting Schalke and Bayer Leverkusen entertaining Cologne.
Bayern will face their new Bavarian rivals Ingolstadt on the penultimate weekend of the season, a week after facing Monchengladbach and before ending the campaign at home to Hannover.
They will be hoping to have wrapped up the title as usual, as they have done in the past three seasons. Meanwhile Guardiola has backed Barcelona Presidential candidate Joan Laporta for the top job at the Spanish club. Laporta was once Barca's President already and was the man who handed the Spaniard his first major managerial assignment.
