Douglas Costa moves to Germany
German giants Bayern Munich have confirmed the signing of Brazillian attacker Douglas Costa from Shakhtar Donetsk in a deal worth €30M. Earlier in the week Soccer Alerts reported the Brazilian confirming the deal was not yet done, but it now been confirmed.
He has also been handed the No. 11 Jersey and is seen in many quarters as the long term replacement for French Mercurial star Frank Ribery. The Winger made 20 appearances scoring four goals last season for the Ukrainian champions but the Bavarian Club can hope that his flair would replace that of Ribery and Robben who had lots of injuries lat season and are now over their 30's and in the twilight of their careers. The deal represents a good bit of investment on the part of Shakhtar who bought the Brazilian from Gremio for just over €7m in 2010. He's however just 24-years-old and still has plenty of time to prove himself and justify his hefty price tag. Watch Douglas Costa in action here
