Messi fan: Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone
Athletico Madrid manager, in he's usual bold fashion has stated that nobody in the world of football comes close to Argentine wizard and Barca forward Leo Messi describing him as the best in the world. He stated further that it was “unfair” that people claimed the Barcelona star couldn’t be the best of all-time until he has won a World Cup.
“Messi is number one,” he told Argentine television channel TyC. “There is not one player these days who can even get close to him.”
But what of former players, and the inevitable contrast between the clean-cut Messi and the outspoken Diego Maradona?
“The comparisons always cause controversy,” Simeone said. “Pushing one aside simply isn’t fair.
“Maradona and Messi played in different times and positions. Messi was much more of a shooter, Diego was all over the pitch.” Meanwhile Christiano Ronaldo's name was missing from the conversation only backing up he's point
