Today's Transfer Gossip

United 'win the race' for Benteke, West Ham want Fernando Llorente, Bayern to buy Vidal for 40m Euros and...

UNITED WIN BENTEKE RACE
The Sun went balls-out on Wednesday evening with their claim that it will be Manchester United, rather than Liverpool, who sign Christian Benteke. 'Christian A Devil' is the headline screamed out on their back page.
The Sun report that Louis van Gaal will activate Benteke's £32.5m release clause, but we're a little bit worried that this is all based on him favouriting a tweet about him playing back-up to Wayne Rooney. They mention that in the third paragraph.
It's important to note also that The Sun's original headline on their website was 'United win race to sign Benteke'. Within five minutes that was changed to 'United close in on Benteke'.

WEST HAM WANT LLORENTE
It's one of the Premier League's big success stories: Genuinely talented players leaving very good European clubs to sign for mid-table teams. After Yohan Cabaye joined Crystal Palace, West Ham are now interested in Juventus striker Fernando Llorente. There's nothing quite as sexy as the race for tenth.
The London Evening Standard report West Ham's interest in the Spaniard, but we'd declare now that there is very little chance of them actually signing him. Tottenham and Monaco are also reportedly interested, whilst Llorente himself must surely be considering a move back to Spain if Juve to want to get rid.
Llorente has 23 Serie A goals in two seasons in Turin, and has 24 caps for Spain.

BAYERN IN TALKS WITH VIDAL
Breaking news from Europe now, with widespread reports that long-term Arsenal and Manchester United target Arturo Vidal is close to joining Bayern Munich. They've just got rid of one central midfielder with a recent history of knee problems, so....
Following the loss of Schweinsteiger to Manchester United there is certainly a gap in Pep Guardiola's midfield. Vidal knows the Bundesliga from his time with Bayer Leverkusen, so this does work for most parties.
Reports suggest that the fee for Vidal will be in the region of €40m. He's never destined to play in England, sadly.
