Porto announce that Athletico'll pay Martinez full release clause



Portuguese club Porto have disclosed that Spanish side Athletico Madrid have agreed to pay the full 35 million euros ($39m) release clause of their star striker Jackson Martinez.

Porto forward Jackson Martinez looks set for a move to Atletico Madrid. 

Martinez who has been a target of top clubs around Europe and at one point of the window almost joined AC Milan but seemed to reject the move at the last minute, is to move to the Vincente Calderon with the Spanish Club paying his full release clause according to a statement on his Current club's website which reads;
"Atletico Madrid agreed on Tuesday to pay Jackson Martinez's release clause to the sum of 35 million euros."
 The Colombia striker has spent three seasons with Porto and played 136 official matches, scoring an astonishing 92 goals. He was the top scorer in the Portuguese league in those three campaigns, with 26 goals in 2012/13, 20 in 2013/14 and 21 last season.
