Over the past weekend, Togolese and Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Oluwaseyi Adebayor reportedly converted to Islamic religion.
Adebayor who has been embroiled in a long standing battle with his mum and siblings was spotted taking the Shahada which is the Islamic creed declaring belief in the oneness of God and the acceptance of Muhammad as God’s prophet. The Ceremony Took place in his home Country, Togo.
For the past two months, the star has been posting regular messages on Facebook exposing the alledged problems facing him and his family. He accused his family of being selfish and particularly accused his junior brother of stealing over 20 phones during a youth team match in Europe.
Adebayor’s Mum Alice and his younger brother Rotimi however have finallyapologized to their son and brother following a recent visit from adelegation in Nigeria.The delegation was made up of family members and friends who all monitored the online drama between the family and tried to broker peace between all parties involved.
