Today's Transfer Gossip

Pogba to city already done?

United want world record fee for De Gea, Cech medical today, Villa's Begovic bid fails, Pogba to City done, Reds want Benteke...

  VILLA'S BEGOVIC BID REJECTED
Aston Villa have had a bid rejected by Stoke for goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.
The goalkeeper is entering the final year of his contract at the Britannia but Stoke remain hopeful of keeping the Bosnia. Jack Butland's presence led many to believe Begovic would be off, with Chelsea among the interested clubs. But Sky Sports claims Butland could be loaned out again if No.1 Begovic remains at the club.

UNITED WANT RECORD DE GEA FEE
If Real Madrid want David De Gea, they will have to stump up in excess of £33million.
Manchester United expect a world-record fee for the goalkeeper if he is to move this summer, despite only a year remaining on the Spaniard's contract, according to the Manchester Evening News. Given the role he played in securing Champions League football next season, United believe another year of him guarding their goal before leaving for nothing would be worth more than anything under the £33million Juventus paid for Gianluigi Buffon in 2001.

CECH CHECKS TODAY
Petr Cech will undergo a medical at Arsenal today, with personal terms sorted and a fee having been agreed between the Gunners and Chelsea.
That's according to the Beeb's David Ornstein. Sky Sports reported earlier this week that the goalkeeper will move for £10.9million.

CITY CLOSE ON £60M POGBA
Manchester City are close to winning the £60million battle for Paul Pogba, claims a Sun exclusive.
The Juventus midfielder has been linked with Barcelona, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, but City apparently believe they have fought off the competition and hope to complete the deal before making a final move for Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling. Hmmm...
City will break the British transfer record to sign Pogba and will pay the French international over £200,000, The Sun adds.

LIVERPOOL TO MOVE FOR BENTEKE
Despite being linked with Sevilla's Carlos Bacca, it is Christian Benteke that remains Liverpool's top striker target, according to several newspapers.
Villa, however, are so far refusing to consider offers below the Belgian's £32.5million release clause, which The Times says has (understandably) proven a deterrent to Liverpool so far. The Reds have already had an offer of around £22million rejected for the Belgian, according to the Daily Mirror.

SCHNEIDERLIN SET FOR UNITED SWITCH
Manchester United are close to signing Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, according to the Daily Mirror and Daily Star.
The latter newspaper claims Saints have accepted a bid of £20million rising to £25million from United for the Frenchman, while the Mirror suggests a £24million deal is close to being finalised.
"The talks are ongoing and should be completed soon," Schneiderlin said of his future.

AND RAMOS TOO?
United's pursuit of Sergio Ramos could also receive a boost in the coming days, with The Times, Telegraph and Independent all claiming they have asked the defender to state publicly his intention to leave Real Madrid this summer.
United's opening bid of £30million is said to have been rejected 'out of hand', but The Times says all three partise are keen for a swift resolution, while the Telegraph adds that the Red Devils have received 'sufficient encouragement' that their ambitious bid could be completed.
