Don't stop me now: Schneiderlin is set to be United's second buy of the summer
Manchester United are reportedly close to the capture of Southampton defensive midfielder Morgan schneiderlin for a reported £24million. The red devils are reportedly set to make Schneiderlin their second signing of the summer and he might just make the move next week.
Arsenal as well as Tottenham were firm favourites for the frenchman with Tottenham making a derisory bid of 10million in the last window only for it to be turned down by the players club, meanwhile he had stated in the past that he'll jump at the chance to move to clubs with champions league playing opportunity which Spurs can't offer. As for Arsenal they can offer the latter and were indeed firm favourites to sign the midfielder with even the bookmarkers slashing the odds of him moving to the emirates but it seems the resurgence of another frenchman Francis Coquelin has cooled their interest in him. Louis Van gaal has given the go ahead for the deal to Vice Chairman Ed Woodward and it now appears United close to agreeing a deal for the lad.
Schneiderlin had revealed that on Wednesday he hoped his future would be resolved by next week, when Saints return for pre-season training, and senior United sources are confident a deal can be struck by then. United have already signed Memphis Depay from PSV and this deal if completed will be the clubs second summer signing and might just spark a flurry of other deals. If you haven't seen him in action, this is what you can expect...
