Manchester United’s opening bid of £30 million for Sergio Ramos has been rejected by the Los Blancos, but Louis van Gaal is still determined to push ahead with a deal.
United had received sufficient encouragement that their ambitious bid could be completed and want the defender to make it clear that he is open to leaving the Bernabéu. Ramos has yet to go public on his desire to pursue a new challenge but United are pushing for the 29-year-old to prove that they are not being used as leverage for a new contract.
Ramos would being with him a wealth of experience... and a bad-boy reputation

The Spain international, who has two years remaining on his contract, met with Madrid officials on Wednesday morning and is thought to be disillusioned because his future at the club is unclear.
He informed the club’s chief executive, José Ángel Sánchez, that he would be willing to hold formal negotiations with United and thus possibly to end an association with Real Madrid that has lasted almost a decade. It was beleived that Man United would offer David De Gea in a straight swap deal but to no avail meanwhile the spanish keeper has just put his home for sale...a deal on the cards?
