Barcelona  are among the teams linked and Laporta, looking to earn a second spell at the head of the club, believes that the high level and quality of interest would not deter the club and the desire of the player and a deal could be thrashed out.
"Pogba would be a great signing," he told Catalunya Radio.
"He really is a very strong player. He is still young and has the desire to join Barcelona.
"I have a great relationship with his agent, Mino Raiola. If we decide to try to sign Pogba, he will definitely be a great intermediary."
Laporta faces competition from current boss Josep Bartomeu, Jordi Majo, Agusto Benedito in the race for the Barcelona presidency. He has been backed by Bayern Munich and former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola who he handed his first senior managerial assignment for the top job. Do Barcelona really need Pogba?
