NFF sack Super Falcons Manager Okon

Super Falcons Manager Edwin Okon looks on during a game

The Nigerian Football Federation has officially announced the sack of Super Falcons Coach Edwin Okon. He has therfore been replaced temporarily by his assistant Christopher Danjuma who'll take over and handle the teams Olympic Qualifier against Equitorial Guinea. This was however expected somewhat as Okon's job had come under intense scrutiny for the Super Falcons dismal performance at the Women's World cup in Canada.
At the World cup the team was pitted in rhe group of death with other World super-powers in Women's football and was the only team outside the top 10 in the Women's Soccer ranking in the group. Although the Coach and players had high hopes after just winning the Africa Women's Championship which the Super Falcons have always dominated for sometime. They drew Sweden in the first game, but their hopes were blighted after consecutive losses to Australia and the USA.
The NFF board does not therefore beleive in the abilities of Coach Okon to carry the team forward and have relieved him of his duties thanking him for the time spent with the Women's National team.
