If you’re a supporter of either Real Madrid, Arsenal, or FC Porto it’s been a busy month for you on the teamwear front, as all clubs have released at the very least their home kits for the upcoming 2015/16 season.
New kit time is always one of the most important parts of football’s silly season. It allows supporters to know if they’re going to be investing in some haute couture for match days or sticking with whatever they’ve got lying around the house for match days. So let’s take a closer look at what the Arsenal and Porto will be wearing for their upcoming campaign.
Arsenal FC
Puma’s up first with their latest Arsenal offering, and it’s a stylish, simple, and classy looking kit befitting the Gunners. The traditional red offering features two shades of red layered in a horizontal jacquard stripe pattern (yes I did have to look it up).

This is combined with white sleeves which feature red piping, the big cat logo on each shoulder and to top it off gold trimmed sleeve cuffs combined with a gold trimmed shirt collar. Puma will also be producing a ladies specific version of the Arsenal kit for Arsenal L.F.C as shown on striker Danielle Carter in the image just above.
It’s definitely a less is more approach from Puma and I love to admit that I love the kit. On the technical side the kit contains Puma’s patented dryCELL technology to keep moisture off the skin satisfying both player and supporter alike by keeping them as dry as possible.
FC Porto
Twenty-seven time Portuguese champions Porto are one of New Balance’s crown jewels. This season marks the clubs first season wearing New Balance kits. The home kit definitely pays homage to the historic Porto kits, with the classic blue and white striped pattern.- Real Madrid's Adidas 2015/16 Home and Away Kits

Technically the shirt features NB Dry which allows the wearer to keep cool and dry while active. The kit is also made from a quick drying moisture wicking material which dries quickly when exposed to moisture.

As this is technically New Balance’s first go around with kits it’ll be interesting to see how their technology holds up to the more established brands.
It wasn’t just a home kit for Porto that was announced, as the 2015/16 away kit has also been released and it asks the question “What can brown do for you?”. Yes that’s right a brown away kit. Where Warrior were all about taking risks with visual designs, New Balance have taken a standard kit design and played with the colour. Early reactions haven’t been the most kind because well, it’s brown. However, there’s something about it I find fetching, I mean outside of FC St. Pauli, who has a brown kit?
Will it sell? Who knows? What I do know is that Porto won’t be clashing colours with another club when they’re wearing their away kits this season. What do you think? Tell us what you think of both club jerseys...
