North London giants Arsenal have handed 19-year-old youngster and soon to be capped Nigerian international Alex Iwobi a new long term contract, a big show of faith and regard on the path of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger who was somewhat instrumental in pushing Iwobi into the first team this season and his managerial team. He revealed the development on twitter with a picture of him, the Arsenal boss and some family members during the contract signing.
The young forward has been impressive for the Arsenal U-21 this season as well as impressed both fans and manager during the current season's pre-season campaign where he featured on the tour of Singapore and netted against Lyon in the Emirates cup.
It is however yet to be seen whether Iwobi who was born in Lagos, Nigeria and is a nephew to former Nigerian Super Eagles masetro and captain Jay-Jay would follow in the foot-steps of other great players, breaking out from the Hale End, Arsenal's academy into the first team the latest in that category being the stellar Bellerin who has totally benched Debuchy and has continued his rave development in the gunners first team.
