Picture of late Super Eagles Striker Rashidi Yekini as he is remembered in Portugal
This is a great and a sad story though. Great in the sense that one of the greatest striker's of the Nigerian Football world was remembered after three years of his death in far away Portugal and sad because you cannot help but wonder if he, Rashidi Yekini is remembered in far away Portugal what about back home in Nigeria?
Yekini was born on October 23 1963 in Kaduna, Nigeria and was surely one of the greatest African players to grace a football pitch and scored a lot of memorable goals for the Super Eagles. The most memorable goal would be him scoring the Country's first ever World Cup goal. He however passed away on May 12 2012. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace...Amen
