Sunshine Stars are back on top of the Nigerian Glo Premier League after they beat visiting Akwa United 3-1 after Wikki Tourists were forced to a draw at home by Giwa FC in continuation of the championship yesterday.
Sunshine, fresh from a 1-0 loss at Rangers at the weekend, now have 29 points from 15 matches, same as Enyimba, who won 3-2 at Kwara United.

Wikki 1-1 draw with Giwa now means they slip to third place.
Enugu Rangers extended their fine run in the league under new coach Imama Amakapabo when they fought back from going behind to stop champions Kano Pillars 2-1 at home. Aniefiok Godspower scored his second goal in as many matches as Pillars stunned home team Enugu Rangers. However, Rangers fought back to win 2-1 with goals from Godwin Aguda and Bobby Clement. This result could spell big trouble for Pillars coach Okey Emordi after he lost at his former club.
Heartland pipped Ifeanyi Ubah FC who have just appointed a new boss 1-0, Abia Warriors turned back Bayelsa 3-1 as there were also home wins for Nasarawa United, Shooting Stars, Abia Warriors and El Kanemi.
