Steven Gerrard holding up new club Jersey
The picture looks very odd but its what we have to leave with now and I'm very sure a lot of Liverpool fan's thought they'll never see it. Liverpool ex-captain Steven Gerrard is seen holding up his New club Jersey which he would be adorning next season for Los Angeles club LA Galaxy.
He is due to be unveiled to the LA fans at half time on Saturday at the game against Toronto and the Picture in question was seen on the club's official twitter handle with the caption ‘Welcome to Los Angeles, Steven Gerrard. #GR8NESS’. Gerrard's due to make his debut on July 17 at home to San Jose Earthquakes.
However, he revealed a number of European clubs made offers but the lure of a fresh challenge in American proved to be too strong.
‘I had some nice opportunities around Europe,’ he told Galaxy TV.
‘But I wanted a completely fresh challenge, to come out of my comfort zone, live away from home and get a different life experience and choose a place where my family can enjoy themselves and settle.
‘When I retire from football in a few years time I want to say I did try something different and didn’t stay in the same place – although I loved every minute of it.’
