Manchester City and Nigerian sensation Kelechi Iheanacho will reportedly return to the Manchester City squad when the Citizens face off in one of Saturday’s Barclays English Premier League clash with the boys from Tyneside, Newcastle United.
Iheanacho has been recently sidelined with injury and last played for the Citizens in the 1-2 defeat to West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium on September 19.
The Nigerian starlet was widely tipped to start his first competitive game for City in the League Cup against Sunderland September 22 in the Capital one cup but he missed the game with the club’s manager, Manuel Pellegrini confirming afterwards that he was injured...badluck I guess!
Well he is back and has made a full recovery propelling him straight into the match day squad for Saturday’s clash with Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium.
Pellegrini confirmed thisduring his press conference on Friday.
"(Vincent) Kompany, (Gael) Clichy, (Fabian) Delph, (Samir) Nasri and (Yaya) Toure are injured. (Eliaquim) Mangala is on the squad list (to face Newcastle United) and so are Kelechi (Iheanacho) and (Wilfried) Bony," Pellegrini said.
Iheanacho has scored once in three league games for Manchester money-bags this season as he continues to seek regular football action at the club.
