3 match ban for Costa, as Gabriel's red card overturned

3 match ban for Costa, as Gabriel's red card overturned

Good news indeed for Arsenal fans from a not to good week though  and bad new for their close neighbours in the west. This issue concerning the #costavsgabriel case has been on since the weekend and personally i think it all boils down to a very famous saying here in Nigeria which goes "100 days for the thief but there'll always be a day for the owner" and trust me when i tell you Diego Costa just got served. If he doesn't know he should better know or be told.
The issue also brings rise to two issues namely Violence and fanatism. Watching the game at the weekend and Costa with his antics was just appalling. Footballers at the various stages of their careers should be alerted to their level of significance in the society especially in the football world and to the fact that they are being watched by up to a billion people on television with Children involved. So there should be #footballwithoutviolence.

Koscielny tumbles to the ground after his heated confrontation with the Spain striker on Saturday afternoon

Meanwhile Diego Costa has been slapped with a three game ban after being shown up as a cheat.
Chelsea were left furious, believing they are the victims of a witch hunt and issued a strongly worded statement saying they were “extremely disappointed” with the FA verdict. It came after Gabriel’s three game ban was overturned by the FA.

It means Costa now misses Chelsea’s Capital One Cup trip to Walsall, their game at Newcastle on Saturday and next home game with Southampton. They cannot appeal the verdict.
It has enraged boss Jose Mourinho as they have no right to appeal and is the second time that Costa has been punished retrospectively.
But Chelsea believe they have been unfairly picked on and did not get a fair hearing because of the intense media coverage. Costa served a three game retrospective ban last season for stamping on Liverpool’s Emre Can.
They also believe that Gabriel should still be in trouble because he sprinted 20 yards to get involved in the initial bust-up between Costa and Koscielny.
The Chelsea statement read: “We are extremely disappointed with the FA Regulatory Commission’s decision to suspend Diego Costa. We will await their written reasons before commenting further.”
Gabriel still faces a hearing on Thursday of improper conduct for failing to leave the pitch while both clubs must also answer charges of failing to control their players. But it is a victory for the FA’s fast track disciplinary system.
