Manchester City will not pay £50m for Sterling (whose agent loses a big client) and United back for Schneiderlin....
CASILLAS SET FOR REAL FAREWELL
Iker Casilllas is all set to join Porto, with Real Madrid preparing a farewell even for their legendary goalkeeper on Friday or Saturday.
AS reports the Spain stopper will sign a two-year deal with the Portuguese side, with the option of a third year. No fee will paid bu Porto, with only the finer details of who makes up the shortfall in Casillas's salary, given he was due to earn €14.5million over the remaining two years of his contract at the Bernabeu.
CASILLA DEAL 'NOTHING BUT LIES'
Casillas is off, but Kiko Casilla won't be replacing him. Not just yet, anyway.
There were reports earlier this week that Real had agreed a deal to sign the Espanyol goalkeeper, but that was dismissed as "nothing but lies" by the Espanyol president.
Joan Collet was also asked whether Madrid is using Casilla to increase the pressure on Manchester United and David De Gea: "I don't know. There's something fishy about this. Someone is playing with our emotions and the player's. I don't like it when they use his name for ulterior motives."
ANT MUSIC
There's a whole load of people being 'adamant' today, with Liverpool 'adamant' that Raheem Sterling will join them on tour (The Sun), Sterling being 'adamant' that he will not play for Brendan Rodgers again (The Daily Mirror) and Manchester City 'adamant' that they will not pay £50m for Sterling (The Daily Express).
The latter claim that City are 'weighing up a third bid' for Sterling but have no appetite for increasing their second bid of £35m, rising to £40m.
Hmmmm. We are starting to wonder whether Sterling's behaviour will have frightened off the very PR-conscious City.
BERAHINO SPLITS WITH WARD
'West Brom striker Saido Berahino has parted company with Aidy Ward, the controversial football agent behind Raheem Sterling's transfer fiasco with Liverpool,' claims the Daily Mail, who say that Berahino is 'disillusioned' with Ward after he became famous (and toxic) due to his involvement in Sterling's agitation to leave Liverpool.
Ward told the Daily Mail: "I'm no longer working with Saido. You'll have to ask him for the reasons. With Raheem, there has been a breakdown in trust between him and Brendan Rodgers."
MAN UNITED BACK FOR MORGAN
After having a £20m bid for Morgan Scheniderlin dismissed as 'not serious' by Southampton manager Ronald Koeman, Manchester United sent a representative down south on Wednesday to re-enter negotiations for the Frenchman, according to the Daily Mail.
Apparently there is an appetite to get Schneiderlin on board ahead of Monday, when United fly out for their pre-season tour of the United States. It is thought that a fee of £27m would be enough to persuade Southampton to sell.
