Italian giant’s AS Roma have completed the loan signing of Nigerian starlets Sadiq Umar and Nura Abdullahi on a year’s loan with an option of a four year permanent deal from AC Spezia.
Both players were in fine form for the AC Spezia Primavera side and have evidently done enough to catch the eye of one the big teams in Italy.
‘Jololo’ as Umar is called caught the eye of a lot of scouts from Inter Milan and Juventus during the Torneo de Viareggio youth tournament where he was one of the stars of the popular youth competition held in Italy yearly.
He also had a fantastic 2014/15 season with the AC Spezia Primavera side where he scored 26 goals in 24 matches to pick the top scorer award at his club and also the best player award.
Nura Abdullahi, who is a right back, can also play on the wings. He also scored six goals from his defensive side and has also being deployed as a defensive midfielder.
“I'm very excited about the move I know it's not going to be easy though,” Umar told supersport.com
“Roma is a big club and expectations is high from almost everyone because of my performance this past season.but I'm very much ready for the challenge.
“It’s a big step up for my career which I want to utilize to the fullest.I give glory to almighty Allah.”he added.
Umar and Abdullahi are expected to start off with the Roma Primavera side before being gradually integrated with the main team
