Enyimba International FC Continued their unbeaten run now stretching nine games but threw away the chance to go top of the table in the Nigeria Premier League as they drew against City rivals, Abia Warriors, on Sunday. The Abia derby ended 2-2 after 90 minutes of action at the Aba International stadium.
Their unbeaten run previously seemed threatened when Ndifreke Effiong gave Abia Warriors the lead in the 27 minute; but Christian Obiozor pulled the hosts back on level terms just before the end of the first half.
Etor Daniel gave Enyimba the desired start in the second half as he put them in front five minutes after the restart. However, hope for maximum points was dashed in the 80th minute when Michael Olaha secured a vital goal that ensured that the points were shared in the Abia derby. Enyimba now have 30 points after 16 games but will stay second with inferior goals difference

On their part, Sunshine Stars did just enough to remain top of the table for another week as they forced a 1-1 draw away from home to Lobi Stars in Makurdi.
In Anambra, Shooting Stars' unbeaten run ended as Nnewi moneybags FC Ifeanyi Ubah defeated them 1-0. The game in Kano also ended in similar fashion as Pillars struggled to beat El-Kanemi Warriors which would put Okey Emordi's job in serious trouble.
Akwa United and Bayelsa United both secured 2-0 victories in their home games against Enugu Rangers and Warri Wolves respectively.
