Cardiff city's Millenium Stadium has sensationally won the race to host the UEFA Champions league final in 2017. The Stadium which was the home of English Football when Wembley was under construction played host to the final of the FA Cup, League Cup final, and also Football League play-offs.
UEFA's executive Committee met at about 11am today to confirm that the Stadium situated in Wales would host the final of the Mundial in 2017 having been impressed by the performance of the 74,500 capacity stadium when it hosted the Super Cup in 2012.

Real Madrid and Wales international superstar Gareth Bale said: ‘These are exciting times for Welsh football. It feels like the whole country is behind us as we attempt to reach next year’s UEFA EURO 2016 finals in France.
‘I know how passionate the Welsh football fans are so it’s great the UEFA Champions League Final is coming to my home city of Cardiff. I loved playing in the UEFA Super Cup last year and it would be fantastic to be involved in front of a packed crowd at such an iconic stadium in 2017.’
